The countdown begins
With just over two weeks to go to Open Studios North Fife, the excitement is rising. I’ve not posted in a while as I’ve been busy setting up my studio to welcome visitors. I have a reasonable amount of experience in curating exhibitions but it is my first time participating in OS and in setting up in this particular space: I started early, so I feel as though I’ve been preparing for ever. In the event, it has proved helpful in allowing me to resolve problems well in advance.
In mid March then, I started to install my new hanging system and begin the process of selecting pieces for exhibition. The long run-in has also allowed for ample time to finish tasks such as framing, pricing, labelling and designing and ordering cards and promotional materials. I have also managed to produce four postcard sized pieces for a charity sale
Happy birthday OSNF!
This is the 20th anniversary of OS in North Fife, and two exhibitions are being held to celebrate this milestone. Sponsors Lindores Distillery and Foursticks Gallery in Falkland are both staging events.
The first, at Lindores Distillery in Newburgh, is an exhibition of postcard sized original works of art. Artists have been invited to donate pieces which are to be sold for £20 each, with proceeds going to STAR siblings reunited. The exhibition will run from 27th April – 11th May
The exhibition, to be held at Foursticks is titled Elements and will run from 26th April – 21st June.
The brief wasn’t specific with regard to a definition of elements so I have chosen to offer a weather related piece.

What can you see at Venue 43?
I’ll be exhibiting around 40 pieces of original work in Venue 43 in Cupar. In addition, I am offering a small selection of limited edition Giclee prints and greetings cards, so plenty to choose from.
