A more accurate title for this post would be ‘not much progress of late’. I’ve been working on this for a while as a diversion from rural landscapes. Painted from a photo of Gerona in Catalonia, taken quite a few years ago, I have applied the pigment almost exclusively by palette knife. I have used this image before to paint a watercolour shortly after that trip and I like to think I’ve learned a few things since then none-the-less, I am in danger of overworking the piece and still need to learn when to put down my palette knife.. One more sitting should do it, I just need to stop finding other things to do.
