Where the River Bends

After what seemed to be a very long dark winter, the riverbank sprang to life, it would appear, almost overnight. The tired foliage of late winter replaced by fresh green grasses and spring flowers; comfrey, cow parsley and campion providing an exuberant display by the side of the path.

In this oil painting I have tried to give a sense of the vibrancy of the scene as well as the different textures created by the plants. For a closer look at this image visit my gallery page.
