These original oil paintings were all created during lockdown in the early part of 2021. I’ve been increasingly experimenting with wet-on-wet techniques and different colour palettes. These three images were finished fairly quickly with a minimum of fuss which was an added bonus, if not to say, unusual for me.

This piece captures the pond in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh at sunset. The evening sky is reflected in the still waters of the pond; the colour of the sun picked up in the reed beds by the side of the water. The original painting measures 13.75” x 11” and the image is currently available as a greetings card or limited edition Giclee print.

This small oil painting was taken from a sketch made while on holiday in Newtonmore. The Cairngorms are visible in the distance with a light mist clearing from the tops. A row of dead trees can be seen against the back drop of the forest and on the moorland in the foreground, new growth is beginning to emerge. This image is currently available as a limited edition Giclee print or as a greetings card.

This is the view from the beach at Longniddry in East Lothian, looking toward Musselburgh. Arthur’s Seat, a well known Edinburgh landmark, can just be seen in the distance. We took advantage of a house hunting expedition outside the city to take a walk along the beach. Thankfully the rain held off until we had finished our walk. This image is currently available as a limited edition Giclee print or as a greetings card.
