Work in Progress

Staying in the Scottish Highlands for my next painting, another oil but with a different feel to my last few pieces where I have used texture and thick layers of paint for effect. Here I am experimenting with colour and a more sparing use of pigment.
The image has been created from a sketch, done on a warm summer’s day on the slopes of Creag Meagaidh, looking toward Loch Laggan. It was one of those days where I had set off equipped for cold and rain and was met with bright sunshine and heat. Needless to say I got very warm struggling up the hill.
