Since I started painting again I have had a fascination for remote landscapes and this has been reflected in my work over the years. I am also interested in the ways that we tame and cultivate these landscapes, either to provide food or to create spaces for leisure. This collection reflects that fascination, some of the works focusing on the either the wild or the cultivated but others showing the juxtaposition of the the two elements.
This mini retrospective exhibition represents work dating from 2004 to 2016. Over the coming months I will be continuing to work with this theme, developing some of the sketches I did on my recent trip to the Cairngorms. Watch this space!
